Introduction
To say that art is imitation is a bit of an understatement. Instead, it is more like art is theft. No author knows this better than Austin Kleon, who writes an entire book based off this idea. In this book, he really highlights the fact that everything you do, even if it is subconscious, is some kind of 'theft' to another artist in one way or another.
Reflection
A writing style, an art style, the way you portray something, are all things that you have seen before and we change it in some way to make it our own. We create something old and make it completely new again. I like the idea of bringing something that would otherwise be forgotten if it's old, or never go anywhere when it's new. The whole ideology may be a little off, because really taking art as inspiration isn't really how it works... however I understand that it is just for a catchy title in order to sell copies. Kleon still does bring up some very valid arguments on what the creative process is like and his advice can be very helpful to people. If you want, taking some of the advice can really help some people when trying to get the creative juices flowing.
